Insurance Claims

Last updated: 26 January 2025

Dealing with a cracked or damaged windscreen is stressful enough. We make the insurance claim process as simple as possible, handling the paperwork so you can focus on getting back on the road.

Insurance Partners

We work with all major Australian insurance companies, including:

  • NRMA Insurance
  • AAMI
  • QBE Insurance
  • Youi
  • Shannons
  • Suncorp
  • Allianz
  • GIO
  • Budget Direct
  • RACV
  • And many more

If your insurer is not listed, do not worry. We can still process your claim. Contact us with your policy details.

How the Claims Process Works

  1. Contact us
Call us on 0458 274 129 or submit a quote request. Let us know you would like to claim through insurance.
  2. Provide your details
We will need your insurance company name, policy number, and claim number (if you have already lodged a claim).
  3. We handle the paperwork
We contact your insurer directly to get approval and organise payment. Most approvals are processed within 24 hours.
  4. Book your appointment
Once approved, we schedule your repair or replacement at a time and location that suits you.
  5. Pay only your excess
You pay your policy excess directly to us. We invoice your insurer for the remainder.

What You Will Need

To process your insurance claim, please have the following ready:

  • Insurance company name
  • Policy number
  • Claim number (if already lodged)
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Vehicle make, model, and year
  • Description of the damage and how it occurred
  • Your contact details

Understanding Your Excess

Your excess is the amount you pay towards the claim. Key points to know:

  • Excess amounts vary between policies (typically $100 to $500 for windscreen claims)
  • Some policies have a separate, lower excess specifically for glass damage
  • A few comprehensive policies include glass cover with no excess at all
  • Check your PDS (Product Disclosure Statement) or call your insurer to confirm your excess

We collect your excess at the time of service. Payment can be made by card, cash, or bank transfer.

Will a Claim Affect My Premiums?

In most cases, a single windscreen claim will not affect your no-claim bonus or increase your premiums. However, policies vary, so we recommend checking with your insurer if you are concerned. Many insurers treat windscreen claims separately from at-fault accident claims.

Chip Repairs Through Insurance

Many insurance policies cover chip repairs at no cost to you. If your windscreen has a small chip that can be repaired rather than replaced, claiming through insurance can save you money and prevent further damage. We recommend repairing chips promptly before they spread into cracks that require full replacement.

Fleet and Business Insurance

We work with fleet managers and businesses to streamline insurance claims for multiple vehicles. We can set up account terms and provide consolidated invoicing for your records. Contact us to discuss your fleet requirements.

Self-Funded Repairs

Sometimes it makes sense to pay out of pocket rather than claim:

  • If your excess is higher than the repair cost
  • If you have multiple claims and are concerned about your premiums
  • If your policy does not cover glass damage

We provide transparent pricing for self-funded repairs. Ask us for a no-obligation quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to lodge the claim myself?

Not necessarily. With your permission, we can lodge the claim on your behalf with most insurers. Some require the policyholder to initiate the claim. We will guide you through the process.

How long does approval take?

Most claims are approved within 24 hours. Some insurers provide instant approval over the phone.

Can I choose my own repairer?

Yes. Under Australian law, you have the right to choose your own repairer. You do not have to use the repairer recommended by your insurer.

What if my claim is declined?

If your claim is declined, we will provide a competitive quote for a self-funded repair. We can also assist if you wish to dispute the decision with your insurer.
